Multilayer multipermittivity ring dielectric resonator antenna filter

Abstract: This article presents a multilayer multipermittivity (MLMP) ring dielectric resonator (DR) which is simultaneously used as a filter and an antenna, hence called dielectric resonator antenna filter. Multiple stacked layer of different permittivity along with the ring feature of DR gives a wideband response for antenna part with improved spurious response. In the presented MLMP ring DR, HEE11 and TE01δ modes are used for antenna and filter element, respectively. As HEE11 and TE01δ are orthogonal in nature that g… Show more

“…The microwave technique comprising of the stacked DR of different permittivity is found to improve the quality factor (Q) of the antenna which contributes to the narrow band resonance. Jyani realized such an antenna using a coaxial probe and two or more DR's. Additionally, frequency reconfigurable DRA with numerous frequency‐tuning methods are available in the literature, where, multiple DR are used and tuned through modifying the transmission line using diode and parasitic lumped elements .…”
