Multifunctional liquid-like graphene@fe3o4hybrid nanofluid and its epoxy nanocomposites

Abstract: Novel multifunctional graphene@Fe3O4 hybrid nanofluid with liquid‐like behavior at room temperature and low viscosity (5.5 Pa.s at 25°C) has been developed by using GO@Fe3O4 as a core, sulfuric acid‐terminated organosilanes as corona, and polyether amine as canopy. The obtained nanofluid has been extensively characterized by various analytical techniques. The content of graphene@Fe3O4 reaches up to 13.78 wt% in the hybrid nanofluid, which is a superparamagnetism material with specific magnetization of 0.39 emu… Show more

“…As shown in Fig. 3a, the presence of hydroxyl (3400 cm -1 ), epoxy (1177 cm -1 ) and carbonyl (1729 cm -1 ) groups indicates that GO has been synthesized successfully [3]. Compared to GO, the absorption peak suggesting that PEGS has also been decorated.…”

“…And it is high enough for the applications of microwave absorbents and electromagnetic shielding coatings [30]. Moreover, the inset graph shows that the obtained liquid-like nanocrystal-functionalized graphene oxide can be immediately responsed to a permanent magnet, which implys that it could also be successfully aligned in a bulk polymer matrix under an external magnetic field [3]. It had been demonstrated that the enhanced solubility of nanofillers in desired solvents is beneficial for the dispersion in matrix [2].…”

“…[6][7][8][9] However, it is difficult to meet the requirements in all industries with PANI alone. Up to now, many PANI-based composites such as PANI/Ag, 10,11 PANI/Au 12 and PANI/Zn 13,14 have shown great performance. Therefore, the development of PANI-based composites is of great significance.…”
