Multifunctional Distributed MPPT Controller for 3P4W Grid-Connected PV Systems in Distribution Network with Unbalanced Loads

Abstract: The integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems with three-phase four-wire (3P4W) distribution networks has imposed several challenges related to existing unbalanced loads, reactive power generation and harmonics content. In this paper, a multifunctional distributed maximum power point (MPPT) controller for grid integration of PV systems is proposed. The proposed distributed MPPT controller is developed based on employing a four-leg three-level T-type multilevel inverter. The proposed inverter performs multifunct… Show more

“…Driven by these benefits, the future power systems are predicted to be fed by energy sources that are totally renewable. Therefore, modern power systems combine non-conventional resources, such as RES and energy storage systems in order to provide sustainable power systems capable of meeting the significant increase in demand [6][7][8][9][10][11]. For a realistic DED framework and sustainable power systems, there is an essential need to incorporate RES and energy storage systems in the optimization model.…”

“…G LOBAL warming and limited existence of fossil fuels have directed governments to put their ambitious plans of green energy technologies. Renewable energy environmentally-friendly sources have proven efficient, clean, and low cost candidates to the traditional fossil fuels [1]- [5]. Several studies have been performed for evaluating the joint technical-economical long term impacts of RESs installations [6], [7].…”
