This paper explores the specific “authoritarian” type of adaptive governance of urban regeneration using the example of Guangzhou city as the frontier of China’s reforms. As opposed to the “democratic” type of adaptive governance with its bottom-up policy initiations, community autonomy, polycentric power, participation in decision making, and self-organized policy actors, adaptive governance in Guangzhou is based on top-down decision making and implementation of public authorities’ solutions with the high role of political considerations. By analyzing data collected from policy documents, interviews, secondary data, and participative observations, this paper reveals three phases of urban regeneration in Guangzhou between 2009 and 2019: two of them based on “Three Old Redevelopment” policy implementation and the third one based on the local micro-regeneration initiative. Tradeoffs among urban regeneration, land leasing income and micro-regeneration are the key means of policy adaptation which differ from the described phases. Methodologically, the paper does not limit itself by answering only the traditional research questions in regeneration studies of “what” has changed and “why” these changes have happened. Instead, the main focus includes “how” such changes have occurred, which is less researched in the literature. Social–political mechanisms, including limited check-and-balance, selective feedback, and the social learning capacity of the local state, are crucial governance factors to enable adaptation.

External defects of kiwifruit seriously affect its added commercialization. To address the existing problems, kiwifruit external defects detection has a few methods for detecting multi-category defects and weak adaptability to complex images. In this study, we proposed ResNet combined with CBAM for the automatic detection of external defects in kiwifruit. The experiment first built an acquisition device to obtain high-quality images. The optimal fusion scheme of ResNet and CBAM was investigated, the network training parameters were optimized, and Adam was used to accelerate the convergence speed of the model. It was found that the average recognition accuracy of ResNet34 + CBAM for kiwifruit was 99.6%, and all evaluation metrics were greater than 99%. Meanwhile, the experiment selected AlexNet, VGG16, InceptionV3, ResNet34, and ResNet34 + CBAM for comparison. The results showed that the recognition accuracy of ResNet34 + CBAM was 7.9%, 12.7%, 11.8%, and 4.3% higher than that of AlexNet, VGG16, InceptionV3, and ResNet34, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that ResNet34 + CBAM has the advantages of high recognition accuracy and good stability for kiwifruit external defect sample detection. It provides a technical guarantee for online detection and sorting of kiwifruit and other fruit defects.

In the photon-atom interaction, one of the most interesting phenomena can be collapse-revival effect in population inversion of atomic levels. Since a single-photon-transition Jaynes–Cummings model can be generalized to a multiphoton-transition Jaynes–Cummings model, of which the Hamiltonian can exhibit a supersymmetric Lie algebra structure, in this paper, quantum collapse and revival in atomic population inversion, which is a collaborative effect of a variety of quantum Rabi oscillations with various quantum Rabi frequencies, is studied for the supersymmetric multiphoton-transition Jaynes–Cummings model. In the literature, it has been pointed out that quantum collapse and revival might find an application in qubit design. We expect that a supersymmetric two-level system might serve as such a kind of qubits. Compared with ordinary two-level qubits, more information could be stored in the basis vectors of supersymmetric qubits, and this could increase the degrees of freedom of tensor product (multi-component extension) of basis vectors of this multiphoton-atom interacting system. For this reason, some characteristics of the collapse-revival effect driven by ordinary coherent states and Yurke–Stoler coherent states will be addressed in this paper. The influence of various characteristic parameters of this supersymmetric Jaynes–Cummings model and the quantized optical fields on the quantum collapse and revival in the population inversion will be indicated in some numerical illustrative examples.
