Multiferroic oxide BFCNT/BFCO heterojunction black silicon photovoltaic devices

Abstract: Multiferroics are being studied increasingly in applications of photovoltaic devices for the carrier separation driven by polarization and magnetization. In this work, textured black silicon photovoltaic devices are fabricated with Bi6Fe1.6Co0.2Ni0.2Ti3O18/Bi2FeCrO6 (BFCNT/BFCO) multiferroic heterojunction as an absorber and graphene as an anode. The structural and optical analyses showed that the bandgap of Aurivillius-typed BFCNT and double perovskite BFCO are 1.62 ± 0.04 eV and 1.74 ± 0.04 eV respectively, … Show more

“…The diametrically opposite situation is found for the BSA/GCE; this may be due to the insulative BSA protein films on the GCE that hindered the electron transfer 28 . When the GCE was coated by the BSA, the electrochemical activity of the electrode surface was also reduced, so there is decreasing in the oxidation peak current 29,30 . This also explains why the peak current value of APS‐DPANI‐BSA in several CV test results was always focused on the intermediate of APS‐DPANI and BSA.…”

“…In addition to this, the band offset between interfaces plays a vital role in tuning the efficiencies. Unlike the experiment which used a 160 nm thickness for the active layer and a bandgap of 1.7 eV, 22 we have used a higher thickness of the absorber layer (1100 nm). The thickness of the light-absorbing layer in the solar cell can potentially affect the short-circuit current ( J sc ).…”
