Multidimensional simulation of radon diffusion through earthen covers

Abstract: The particular cover studied had a compacted clay layer that effectively attenuated the radon. Field results from Grand Junction, Colorado were compared with onedimensional model simulations. Some field tests were in good agreement with the model predictions, but most of the tests showed large flux variations and were, in general, not predicted by the one-aimensional simulations.
