“…This patient also had vascular adhesion at surgery. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of 3D volume-rendered images evaluation on vascular invasion based on stenosis in this study are higher than those of two prior studies respectively using MR and CT angiography (8,10). An outstanding degree of consistency between volume-rendered images and surgery was obtained according to statistical analyses.…”

“…Accurate delineation of the tumor and its relationship with the adjacent main vascular structures is of major importance in performing successful surgery. Providing the surgeon with additional invasion data on vascular stenosis due to the tumor and the origin and the course of the tumor's feeding artery before surgery will aid in designing the operation strategy and in determining the operation technique (7)(8)(9)(10)13).…”

“…The accuracy of CEAI and VR in this study was less than in previous studies. 7,13,15 This difference might be due to the location of the lesions assessed in our study. These lesions were located in the deep soft tissues of the extremities rather than superficial soft tissues, which were more prone to cause adjacent vascular displacement and even reduction of the arterial lumen, or result in disappearance of adipose film interposition.…”

“…CTA is not routinely used for tumor staging, although conventional CT is helpful for displaying ossification or calcification in the tumor matrix (13). The thin section (1 mm) images and high spatial resolution enable accurate assessment of the vasculature, more accurate, according to some authors, than MRA (14) in the assessment of musculoskeletal tumor vascular invasion. However, CTA has some innate shortcomings.…”
