“…can be simply prepared from CD/polymer solutions using different fabrication methods,s uch as molding, [51,52] dipcoating, [53] spin-coating, [54] drop-casting, [55,56] electrospinning, [58] drying, [59,60] and pH adjustment. [61][62][63][64] To date, various polymers have been applied, such as poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), [51,52] polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), [54][55][56][57][58] polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), [59] polycaprolactone (PCL), [33] chitosan (CS), [62] and starch. [61] In this case,C Ds with abundant functional groups are effectively conjugated with polymers through physical interactions, which results in good dispersion of the CDs in the polymers and avoidance of aggregationintroduced PL quenching.N otably,t he PL band positions of CD/polymer composites are not only dependent on the types and concentration of the CDs,b ut also on the polymer species.…”

“…Solid-state LEDs show great promise as next-generation lighting devices because of their high energy efficiency, long lifespan, and energy-saving properties.F luorescent materials with high-quality PL are highly demanded for LEDs.I nt his regard, the low-cost, environmentally friendly,s table,a nd highly fluorescent CD/polymer materials are considered as ideal candidates. [61,62,64,69] Thepolymers can provide mechanical support and chemical resistance for the embedded CDs, thereby leading to various CD/polymer composites with solidstate PL. Furthermore,t he presence of the polymers may greatly enhance the PL properties of CDs in terms of enhanced PL intensity, [38,56] QYs, [39,57] and stability [40] as well as offer tunable PL band positions.…”

“…[ 12–14 ] Of all the above methods, fluorescent sensors based on organic dye‐based fluorescent probes and fluorescent nanomaterials have increasingly drawn research interest, because they can achieve real‐time, sensitive, and rapid determination of copper ions. Carbon dots (CDs) are a promising luminescent nanomaterial that could be used in the application of biomedical fields, [ 15,16 ] light‐emitting diodes [ 17,18 ] and fluorescent sensors [ 19–22 ] due to their characteristics, such as excellent optical properties (high photostability and tunable emission), superior biocompatibility, excellent water dispersibility, facile preparation with cheap precursors, and easy surface modification. Accordingly, CDs are widely employed as probes for the fluorescence detection of copper ions.…”
