Multiband Compact Low Sar Mobile Hand Held Antenna

Abstract: Abstract-With the vast emergence of new mobile applications, multiband operation in a compact size is mandatory for market penetration. In this paper, a new mobile handset antenna suitable for both mobile and wireless LAN services is presented. The antenna operates for most of the mobile applications such as the GSM 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900, UMTS 2100, and most of the LTE bands, especially the low frequency LTE 700 band at −10 dB. The antenna also supports the WIMAX, WLAN, and the ISM bands. The antenna not onl… Show more

“…The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is another key factor that shows how much power is absorbed by the human tissues and it should be assessed when a MIMO antenna is used for a smartphone [ 51 , 52 , 53 ]. The SAR is defined as the absorbed energy by a unit mass of tissue.…”

“…Next, the proposed antenna is loaded with a staircase meander line near to the Ant 1 to improve the BW and shift it to lower band as well as could create a resonance at 3.8 GHz. So that means the lower 5G band coverage is achievable, too [71][72][73][74].…”

“…Another important element to consider is the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which indicates how much power is absorbed by human tissues and should be considered when a MIMO antenna is assumed in a close proximity to the human body, such as in smartphones and wearable devices [74]. The SAR is the amount of energy absorbed by a unit mass of tissue.…”

“…Various approaches for obtaining the multiband properties of antennas have been reported throughout the last decade. Monopoles antennas, [27][28][29][30][31][32] substrate integrated suspended line (multilayers) antennas, 33 patch/slot-patches antennas, 34 slot antennas, 35 dipole antennas, 36 and planar inverted-F-antennas (PIFAs) were employed to realize numerous bands to combine 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G standards. The disadvantages of most of these studies include limited number of bands, narrowband characteristics, and/or high profiles.…”
