Abstract:Since its introduction in 2014, vibrational spectroscopy in the electron microscope [1] has led to many remarkable results. Examples include distinguishing between 13 C vs 12 C in an amino acid (L-alanine) and mapping their distribution with ~30nm resolution [2], detecting the vibrational signal from a single defect in a solid [3], and recording the vibrational spectrum of a single atom [4]. Other examples can be found in a recent review of the progress [5]. The field continues to advance rapidly, facilitated … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
