The traditional methods used for the identification of individuals such as personal identification numbers (PINs), identification tags, etc., are vulnerable as they are easily compromised by the hackers. In this paper, we aim to focus on the existing multibiometric systems that use hand based modalities for the identification of individuals. We cover the existing multibiometric systems in the context of various feature extraction schemes, along with an analysis of their performance using one of the performance measures used for biometric systems. Later, we cover the literature on template protection including various cancelable biometrics and biometric cryptosystems and provide a brief comment about the methods used for multibiometric template protection. Finally, we discuss various open issues and challenges faced by researchers and propose some future directions that can enhance the security of multibiometric templates.

Biometric authentication is an efficient system associated with a person’s behavioural and physiological characteristics. The palm vein technology is a promising technology to recognize and identify the vein patterns of a person’s palm as a personal identification tool. The vein patterns of the palm exist beneath the skin and hence, it is very difficult to forge. Moreover, the palm vein patterns for every patient, including twins are different and unique. However, this pattern is persistent throughout the lifetime of the patient. This technology can be ideally useful for recognizing specific patients and keeping their records more accurately. The accuracy of this technology is not affected by factors like skin diseases, injuries, surface and subcutaneous nature of the palm. The technology is non-invasive and aseptic for use in public areas. This biometric authentication system will be useful for inpatients, outpatients and patients in ICU, emergency wards, even unconscious patients too. As there are lots of similarities in many patient’s names, birth dates, etc. there are many chances of errors in the authentication process. These errors lead to mismatch and interchange of the data resulting in serious issues. In order to minimize all these problems, palm vein technology will be the best tool. In this review, the authors discussed palm vein technology, its significance and the way this system is applicable in biometric authentication of patients and their safety.

Game controllers have been planned and improved throughout the years to be as easy to understand as could reasonably be expected. A game controller is a gadget utilized with games or theatre setups to give contribution to a computer game, commonly to control an item or character in the game. Information gadgets that have been named game controllers incorporate consoles, mice, gamepads, joysticks, and so on. A few controllers are intended to be purposely best for one sort of game, for example, guiding wheels for driving games, move cushions for moving games, and light firearms for firing games. The aim here is to create a virtual environment, where the user is appealed by various gesture controls in a gaming application. A Gesture is an action that has to be seen or felt by someone else (here a PC) and has to convey some piece of information. Now obviously, to create a virtual gaming environment, we need to create a real-time gaming application first. We’ll be designing our 2D and 3D gaming applications through Unity 3D video game engine. The data used in this project is primarily from the Ego Hands dataset. After an input has been taken, and the consequent action has been performed, we’ll use this activity for future development of the model by using Tensor-Flow. The input will be taken through the webcam of the PC which will be accessed and combined to the gaming application and hands dataset by WebGL. WebGL is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 2D and 3D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins.
