“…The trends of the distribution of ANS in the broken fiber as well as in the adjacent intact fiber in CNT/ Al 2 O 3 nanocomposites studied in the present work are also similar to the distribution of ANS in conventional carbon-fiber/epoxy composites as reported by Nedele and Wisnom. 24 Results from the present study show that the magnitudes of ISS near the fiber break do not show much variation with the change in volume fractions, even though earlier result 18 showed a significant variation in magnitudes of ISS with volume fraction for both the CNT/epoxy and CNT/titanium. This study also revealed that the ineffective length of the broken CNT in CNT/Al 2 O 3 nanocomposites is much lesser compared to that reported for CNT/epoxy nanocomposites.…”

“…When carbon fibers are used in polymers, advanced polymer composites are created with all of the advantages relative to conventional metallic materials. As a result, carbon fiber-reinforced plastics are widely used in automobile and aircraft industries [32,33]. If the composites are used together with metals, the hybrid material combines the excellent specific strength, stiffness, and fatigue properties of composites with the superior machinability and toughness of metals.…”
