“…Taking into account evolutionary approaches, the interesting proposition of the GA-based method capable of solving hard computational problems is MuPPetS presented in Kwasnicka and Przewozniczek (2011). MuPPetS is a new general work schema for evolutionary algorithms (EAs).…”

“…MuPPetS is a new general work schema for evolutionary algorithms (EAs). This method combines the coevolution, linkage learning techniques (Chen, Yu, Sastry, & Goldberg 2007) and messy coding (Goldberg, Deb, Kargupta, & Harik, 1993;Goldberg, Korb, & Deb, 1989;Kwasnicka & Przewozniczek, 2011;Przewozniczek, Walkowiak, & Wozniak, 2011;Walkowiak, Przewozniczek, et al, 2013). For the GA-hard problems built from deceptive functions concatenations, which are commonly used GA test tool, MuPPetS was able to outperform a Bayesian Optimization Algorithm (BOA) (Pelikan, Cantu-Paz, & Goldberg 1998) and a fast messy genetic algorithm (fmGA) (Goldberg et al, 1993).…”
