Multi-parametric Dynamic Analysis of a Rolling Bearings System

Abstract: A method for calculating amplitudes and constructing frequency characteristics of forced and self-excited vibrations of a rotor-fluid-foundation system on rolling bearings with a non-linear characteristic based on the method of complex amplitudes and harmonic balance has been developed. Non-linear equations of motion of the rotor-fluid-foundation system are derived, and analytical methods of their solution are presented. Frequencies of fundamental and ultra-harmonic resonances are determined. The intervals bet… Show more

“…In this case, elastic deformations in the rolling bearing occur in the radial and axial directions and are non-linear [1]. The radial compliance of the bearings is caused by the deformation of the rolling elements and roller ways at the points of contact [2]. Consider a symmetrical vertical rotor of mass m, having a cylindrical cavity of radius R, and a static imbalance e. A cylinder of height h is partially filled with a weakly conductive viscous liquid.…”

“…In many theoretical and practical studies on the dynamics of rotor systems containing liquid, only oscillations of the rotor with liquid are considered, without taking into account the electromagnetic properties of the liquid and the mobility of the foundation [1]. This assumption leads to certain errors in assessing the dynamic and kinematic characteristics of the rotor system [2]. Studies of such dynamic systems as rotary systems show the importance of taking into account the electromagnetic properties of the fluid, the nonlinear properties of the shaft supports, foundation vibration and the need to develop measures to reduce them [3].…”

“…Chernets et al [24] proposed a computational method to solve the plane contact problem of elastic theory to determine the contact strength and tribological durability of plain bearings. Kydyrbekuly et al [25] proposed a method for amplitude calculation and frequency characteristic construction of forced vibration and self-excited vibration of rotor-fluid-foundation system of nonlinear rolling bearing based on complex amplitude and harmonic balance method.…”

“…[30,31], mathematical models of the "rotor-bearing-foundation" system, in a linear formulation, with the rotor shaft located horizontally, are presented. In a nonlinear formulation, this problem was partially considered and analyzed by the method of complex amplitudes in [32,33]. A more complicated mathematical model of this kind makes it possible to investigate the effect of rotational speed on frequency spectra and amplitudefrequency characteristics for any rotor system on rolling bearings.…”
