Multi-objective FACTS placement using improved harmony search optimization

Abstract: Optimal placement of FACTS devices attempts to improve power transfer, minimize active power loss, enhance voltage profile and improve voltage stability, thereby making the operation of power systems more flexible and secured. The classical methods experience difficulties in solving the FACTS placement problem (FPP) with discontinuous functions and may diverge or result oscillatory convergence. Besides the number of FACTS devices for placement should be given as an input while solving the problem. The solution… Show more

“…20 Arun Nambi and Aravindhababu (2020) suggested a modified HSO strategy, accounting the bad music that results in dissonance, and used on FACTS placement problems with several goals. 3 Saha et al ( 2022) presented a medium voltage fast charging and discharging power network resembling the function of refuelling station and facilitating energy flow in both directions. The station offered enhanced efficiency, higher energy density and ability for limit the current.…”
