Multi-Objective Caching Optimization for Wireless Backhauled Fog Radio Access Network

Abstract: Proactive content caching in a fog radio access network (F-RAN) is an efficient technique used to alleviate delivery delay and traffic congestion. However, the symmetric caching of the content is impractical due to the dissimilarity among the contents popularity. Therefore, in this paper, a multi-objective random caching scheme to balance the successful transmission probability (STP) and delay in wireless backhauled F-RAN is proposed. First, stochastic geometry tools are utilized to derive expressions of the a… Show more

“…Bani-Bakr et al [28] showed that improving STP by the wireless backhauling of F-APs does not always minimize the delay due to the large average delays of the backhaul links. Moreover, it is noted in the previous section that EE is fundamentally influenced by STP and delay.…”

“…In [22], the authors proposed a joint power allocation and proactive cooperative caching scheme that minimizes the latency in F-RAN. In [23], [24], the authors proposed multi-objective caching schemes for wireless backhauled F-RAN. Nevertheless, none of the aforementioned contributions considers the multicast transmission scheme.…”
