Multi-Input Inverter for Grid-Connected Hybrid PV/Wind Power System

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to propose a novel multi-input inverter for the grid-connected hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/wind power system in order to simplify the power system and reduce the cost. The proposed multi-input inverter consists of a buck/buck-boost fused multi-input dc-dc converter and a fullbridge dc-ac inverter. The output power characteristics of the PV array and the wind turbine are introduced. The perturbation and observation method is used to accomplish the maximum power point tracking algorit… Show more

“…Commonly, the shunt resistance (Rsh) is extensive and the arrangement resistance (Rs) is little [5]. In this manner, it is normal to disregard these resistances keeping in mind the end goal to rearrange the sunlight based cell display.…”

“…The wide opening among time and transport territory incite the inefficiency in giving vitality to the commonplace reaches [5]. This can be wiped out just by the use of forefront techniques in power equipment by giving consistent power supply to the customers by giving versatility in source by setting the inverters [6].…”

“…A common practice is to adopt a cascaded connection of a battery charger and a converter (or inverter) to provide dc (or ac) voltage for the load. A multiple-port or multiple-input configuration becomes more popular because this allows the intake of multiple energy sources [9]- [13] such as a Photovoltaic panel, wind turbine, fuel cell, and battery at the same time, and favours the hybrid power system development. The Photovoltaic-battery dcdc converter for the proposed dc bus system has to achieve charging of the battery, Maximum power point tracking function, and provide tight output regulation, i.e., a dc-dc converter with high voltage gain and simple circuitry is required.…”
