Multi-Field Coupling Dynamics Modeling of Aerostatic Spindle

Abstract: The aerostatic spindle in the ultra-precision machine tool shows the complex multi-field coupling dynamics behavior under working condition. The numerical investigation helps to better understand the dynamic characteristics of the aerostatic spindle and improve its structure and performance with low cost. A multi-field coupling 5-DOF dynamics model for the aerostatic spindle is proposed in this paper, which considers the interaction between the air film, spindle shaft and the motor. The restoring force method … Show more

“…The thickness of a WS 2 monolayer is known to be ∼0.7 nm; therefore, this result indicates that layer-by-layer control was possible using the proposed recess process. 28,29 The mechanical exfoliation of the two-dimensional vdW material caused more defects at the edges than on the surface of the material, ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2023 12 075009 which made the edges more reactive. Oxygen radicals adsorbed to the highly reactive defect sites and produced vigorous oxidation reactions in the lateral direction, which reduced the channel width after KOH wet etching.…”

“…Due to the vanishingly low friction in the air, high wear resistance, and environmental friendliness, aerostatic bearings are used in machines, in particular, in machine tools, which are devices that require high accuracy of micro-movement and positioning [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. In mechanical engineering, aerostatic bearings are used in the spindle assemblies of metalcutting machine tools [9][10][11][12].…”

“…A large number of theoretical and experimental works have been published on various aspects of gas lubrication [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. The greatest demand for aerostatic bearings is observed in machine-tool construction when using aerostatic bearings in the spindle units of metalworking machines [9][10][11][12].…”
