Multi-Dimensional Spectrum-Effect Relationship of the Impact of Chinese Herbal Formula Lichong Shengsui Yin on Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: Lichong Shengsui Yin (LCSSY) is an effective and classic compound prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCMs) used for the treatment of ovarian cancer. To investigate its pharmacodynamic basis for treating ovarian cancer, the multi-dimensional spectrum-effect relationship was determined. Four compositions (I to IV) were obtained by extracting LCSSY successively with supercritical CO2 fluid extraction, 75% ethanol reflux extraction, and the water extraction-ethanol precipitation method. Nine samples fo… Show more

“…The analysis on fingerprint and pharmacologic efficacy not only leads to the revelation of their correlation in between, but can also help with determining the active compounds [ 16 ]. Spectrum-effect relationship research has been widely applied to many fields, such as active compounds of TCM [ 17 ], prescription composition, drug processing mechanism [ 18 ], prediction of pharmacologic activity [ 19 , 20 , 21 ], and so on. The studies on relevant areas are in increasing need of the assistance of complex system modeling, and OPLS is one of them.…”

“…For spectrum–effect relationship studies, Chinese herbal formulas are generally divided into different batches and samples are prepared through different extraction methods or different combinations, which refers to herbs, extracts or compositions in an orthogonal compatibility combination (Y. Wang, Li et al, ; Xu et al, ). In the present study, based on the original herbal formula, SHLI together with the six components present in in vivo serum was prepared and determined through the established method (Han, Lv, Xue, Cao, & Cui, ).…”
