Multi-Beam NOMA for Hybrid mmWave Systems

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a multi-beam non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme for hybrid millimeter wave (mmWave) systems and study its resource allocation. A beam splitting technique is designed to generate multiple analog beams to serve multiple users for NOMA transmission. Compared to conventional mmWave orthogonal multiple access (mmWave-OMA) schemes, the proposed scheme can serve more than one user on each radio frequency (RF) chain. Besides, in contrast to the recently proposed single-beam mmWave-N… Show more

“…Such rod-like precipitates were commonly detected in the aged Mg-Zn binary alloys, [32] which contributed to the increment of hardness during ageing treatment. According to previous investigations, [33,34] b 1 0 and b 2 0 phases were formed from the supersaturated Mg-Zn binary alloy during ageing treatment. The rod-like b 1 0 phase was the main strengthening phase, while the b 2 0 phase with plate shaped affected the strength little.…”

“…scheduling algorithms [8], [9], power allocation strategies [10]- [12], the applications in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems [13] and physical layer security [14]. However, most of these works are based on Gaussian signaling which could arguably be infeasible for current wireless systems.…”

“…The existing NOMA techniques can be classified into power-domain based [9], [10] and code-domain based methods [11], [12]. In power-domain based NOMA, users are multiplexed over several resources by employing superposition coding with proper power [13]. In code-domain based NOMA, the signals of users are spread over the radio resource elements with predefined codebooks.…”
