Abstract: Fiber metal laminates (FMLs) are made by sandwiching a fiber-reinforced composite between thin layers of metal. FMLs are modern materials utilized in the manufacture of automobiles and aircraft because of their improved mechanical behavior compared to conventional metallic alloys.
