The circular economy has been promoted as a solution to plastic pollution, but cities and communities bear the brunt of plastic pollution. The Circularity Assessment Protocol (CAP) is a systems method of collaborative and open data collection for communities to use for decision‐ and policy‐making. The CAP has been utilized in 51 cities in 14 countries and is illustrated here in Metro Manila. Results include identifying manufacturing and parent companies to bring to the table; documenting most (77%) products are in single‐use multi‐layer film packaging; a small, but growing formal refill and reuse system; 10% of to‐go food containers composed of paper‐based alternatives, and a snap‐shot leakage concentration of plastics to the environment that is 1.8%–2.7% of current waste generation. Community narratives emerged from a collaborative workshop and are threaded throughout opportunities identified by the CAP process to inform circularity, future actions, and policy, as a scalable way to create systems change for plastic pollution from the ground up.

Islam has comprehensive rule that regulate in all aspects of human life, including evireonmental issues. One fact of global problems related to environment is waste management problem. Zero waste is waste management system which it could be a holistic solution due to waste issue. This study aim to analyse the zero waste concept within Islamic-science prespective on municipal waste reduction as a solution to prevent environmental damage. This study use literature reviews method that focuse on waste management programs in Surabaya City which have been stated on a national and international scale. The results of this study show implementation of waste management programs In Surabaya City such as the depletion of disposable plastic usage, the existence of waste bank units, until the presence of a solid waste power plant infrastructure. However, the program implementation has not been able to decrease the number of resource in Surabaya landfill. It is because of poorly coordination between government and society, and the lack of environmental awareness about the harm of waste resource to environmental health. Thus, the existence of zero waste concept combined with Islamic-science prespective could lead direction movement to appreciate the importance of proper and correct waste management. Based on these results, it conclude that waste management with zero waste concept considered to become a new lifestyle in waste management namely Islamic lifestyle, because it is in line with Islamic law. Moreover, this new lifestyle could be implemented in all communities regarding to the nature is a gift form Allah SWT and humans have a command to protect it.

This article aims to explore a startegi in the form of the implementation of organic waste management to create sustainable skills and mindsets. The method used in this study is the weak method of experimentation. Instruments used in research in the form of instruments about 15 questions are tested before and after learning. The sample used in this study as many as 32 students in one of the junior high schools in Pandeglang. The results showed an increase between the pretest and postest student results with a significance level of 0.00 which showed that there was an influence between sustainable development education integrated organic waste management and improved sustainability literacy. While the acquisition of N-Gain score of 46.87% with low category, 46.87% medium category and 6.25% in the high category. N-Gain scores show less than optimal results, because some students get low N-Gain grades. Thus, this research can be concluded to be able to increase the sustainability literacy of students with low categories. Therefore, it needs to be re-studied for further research. The results of this study are also useful for anyone who wants to learn about sustainable lifestyles, especially in organic waste management.
