Moving Business Intelligence to cloud environments

Abstract: Business Intelligence systems use information technology to supply integrated management support with data coming from several sources of structured and unstructured data. The integrated infrastructures of Business Intelligence (BI) are often too complex and hence costly and inflexible. A solution for these issues is to leverage cloud computing services to enhance legacy BI systems and applications with cost-efficient increased scalability and flexibility. However, the migration of BI systems to cloud environm… Show more

“…Cloud computing, especially the SaaS service model (is explained later on), is a trigger for the evolution of BI 3.0. BI 3.0 solutions can be implemented and deployed quickly, flexibly, and cost-effectively [9] . The combination of BI 3.0 and cloud computing is referred to as cloud-based SSBI tools, which is a fast developing application area [21] .…”

“…Several frameworks, architectures, and methodologies are implemented to help organizations that wish to migrate their BI to the cloud. Thus, Verdejo et al introduced a framework for BI migration to the cloud [33]. This framework supports a migration based on the requirements of the organizations that wish to move their BI system to the cloud premises.…”
