En un aspecto global se evidencia un incremento en la contaminación del medio ambiente, siendo una de las más destacables causas: los vehículos. Estos al ser uno de los medios de transportes más comunes por ser efectivos para la movilidad, a su vez, generan efectos negativos en el entorno mediante la liberación de distintas cantidades de dióxido de carbono y uso de los derivados del petróleo para su funcionamiento. El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar la ética en el control de la contaminación del parque automotor en el Ecuador. Aplicando una metodología cualitativa mediante la revisión bibliográfica de distintas fuentes. El resultado principal es que la contaminación vehicular está cada vez empeorando más al punto de poner en peligro al medio ambiente y a su vez al ser humano. Los entes reguladores de la contaminación deben poner más énfasis en cumplir con las disposiciones, normas o reglamentos que estén vigentes en el Ecuador. En conclusión, la contaminación sobre la industria automotriz es uno de los mayores problemas a nivel mundial por los diferentes factores que conlleva la creación y utilización de un vehículo, sin embargo, es un mal necesario en la vida cotidiana del ser humano que puede ser reemplazado por otras alternativas no tan dañinas. La ética ambiental hace hincapié en el cuidado del medio ambiente debido a que aparte del ser humano existen otros seres vivos habitando en el planeta tierra.
