Motoneuron deafferentation and gliosis occur in association with neuromuscular regressive changes during ageing in mice

Abstract: Background The cellular mechanisms underlying the age-associated loss of muscle mass and function (sarcopenia) are poorly understood, hampering the development of effective treatment strategies.
