MOTIVASI MEMBACA KRITIS TEKS BAHASA ARAB (Analisis Faktor Motivasi Baca bagi mahasiswa Prodi PBA)

Abstract

Motivation has a strong impact on the cognitive and affective aspects of reading. Motivation affects the way a person thinks, when someone is interested in the text they read, their understanding is more enhanced than when reading a text they are not interested in. This study aims to describe the faktors that influence the motivation of PBA study program students at IAIN Palangka Raya in critical reading (understanding) of Arabic texts in the Maharah Qiraah subject. By using descriptive qualitative methods, data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. The data collected were analyzed and validated by the triangulation method. The results showed that there were four faktors that influenced students' reading motivation in reading Arabic texts; 1) Ability to read 2) Reading needs 3) Personal interests or desires 4) Supporting conditions and facilities.
