“…[5][6][7] This ternary system ceramics exhibited the high apparent piezoelectric constant d33* of 300 pm/V and the temperature of the dielectric maximum of 390 ˚C at the composition of 0.365BT-0.05BMT-0.585BF. 5 As an alternative to BT, we have employed (Bi0.5K0.5)TiO3 (BKT) which has the high Curie temperature of 380 ˚C and has a tetragonal perovskite structure at room temperature [8][9][10] , and the BKT-BMT-BF system has been studied. “…21 Xie et al argued that the MPB region exists only at x ¼ 0:2 and the structure is rhombohedral and tetragonal below and above this value, respectively, and that there is no co-existence of a mixed phase in any compositional region. 22 In all the reported studies on the structural aspects of the BNKT solid solution series, only few compositions have been studied in the MPB region. Therefore, to understand the structure-property correlations in this complicated system, a detailed structural study of the solid solution (1 À x)BNTxBKT where 0 x 0:36 with small compositional variations (Áx in steps of 0.02 for 0 x 0:1 as well as 0:2 x 0:36 and in steps of 0.01 for 0:10 x 0:2) have been carried out by Rietveld refinement of the powder XRD patterns and the changes in the structural parameters are correlated with the changes in the microstructure, density and dielectric constant.…”
