O objetivo do trabalho consiste em verificar a evolução da vegetação na porção norte do município de Corumbataí do Sul, associando-o às condições paleoambientais, bem como analisar o impacto e as alterações antrópicas sofridas por esta vegetação. Os materiais e métodos pautaram-se na recuperação da assembleia fitolítica. Nos resultados e discussão aborda-se os fitólitos recuperados, sendo expressivos nas primeiras profundidades, com baixo número de fitólitos preservados no solo; abordou-se também o significado e representatividade de cada família botânica correspondente as morfologias; as frústulas de diatomáceas foram apenas contabilizadas e serviram como indicador de presença d’água na localidade amostrada, esse proxy concentrou-se 90% no topo do testemunho. Concluiu-se que os fitólitos são fundamentais para determinar as famílias botânicas presentes, mesmo quando recuperado no topo do testemunho, promovendo a confirmação do substrato vegetal atual, que se compõem de gramíneas sazonalmente alagadas, permitindo a reprodução de diatomáceas. Sugeriu-se novas amostragens em diferentes pontos com a finalidade de levantar mais informações paleoambientais.
