Morphological signs of connective tissue dysplasia as predictors of frequent post-exercise musculoskeletal disorders

Abstract: Background Connective tissue dysplasia (CTD) is a risk factor for musculoskeletal disorders. Changes caused by disorganization of collagen and elastin fibers lead to the inability of withstanding heavy mechanical stress. In clinical practice, diagnosis of these disorders depends on physical and anthropomorphic evaluation. Methods Forty-eight patients with frequent post-exercise musculoskeletal disorders were evaluated for CTD. The co… Show more

“…Clinical-instrumental examination was aimed at identifying morphometric signs of connective tissue pathology according to a questionnaire compiled at the First Moscow State Medical University [ 4 ]. Body proportionality was assessed according to Verveka and Pignet indices, body weight was assessed via the Quetelet and Vargi indices, dolichostenomelia was assessed with the arm length/height, upper body/lower body, foot length/height, and wrist length/height ratios.…”

“…Также обнаружена тесная взаимосвязь чувствительных волокон блуждаю щего нерва и TNX -при недостаточности тенасцина снижается порог чувствительности афферентных окончаний блуждаю щего нерва, что приводит к более активной импульсации и релаксации нижнего пищеводного сфинктера [29]. Долихостеномелия -разновидность поражения костной системы при нДСТ, при которой происходит удлинение конечностей [30]. Механизм возникновения долихостеномелии малоизучен и требует дальнейшего исследования.…”

“…Connective tissue dysplasia (CTD) and musculoskeletal disorders [27][28][29] , such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren Syndrome (SS), and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), may influence the physical activity or movement of patients. These kinds of diseases seriously affect the quality of life of people and have been reported to be potentially affected by genetic factors 30 .…”
