Morphological restructuring of lymphoid organs in birds and tailless amphibians after surgical interventions on the viscera

Abstract: Resection of the liver and pancreas in birds involves a decrease in mitotic activity of follicular lymphoid cells in the bursa of Fabricius (3.8 and 2.6 times on days 10 and 20 postoperation, respectively) and in the spleen (1.5-2 times 1-30 days postoperation) in comparison with the white pulp and splenic follicles volume. In frogs, unilateral nephrectomy involves devastation of the spleen (its red and white pulp), which does not decrease by day 8 postoperation.
