Morphological and molecular changes in the Harderian gland of streptozotocin‐induced diabetic rats

Abstract: Using a rat model of type 1 diabetes (T1D) obtained by treatment with streptozotocin, an antibiotic that destroys pancreatic β‐cells, we evaluated the influence of subsequent hyperglycemia on the morphology and physiology of the Harderian gland (HG).
