Morphological and immunohistochemical characterization of spontaneous endometriosis in rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta)

Abstract: Abstract. Several cases of spontaneous endometriosis in middle-aged to old rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) from the breeding colony of the German Primate Center were thoroughly characterized with regards to anatomical distribution and macroscopic appearance, histological differentiation and immunohistochemical profile including somatic markers, hormonal receptors, and proliferation indices. More than half of the examined animals (five of nine) were directly related to one breeding male, supporting a strong ge… Show more

“…Contrast-enhanced ultrasound, also known as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, is a technique that uses contrast agents to enhance backscattered echoes and significantly improve the resolution, sensitivity, and specificity of ultrasound diagnosis. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound is a technology that uses contrast agents to improve echo and significantly improves the resolution, sensitivity, and specificity of diagnostic ultrasound [ 13 ]. By improving the performance of related instruments and the emergence of new contrast acoustics, contrast ultrasound can improve two-dimensional ultrasound images and Doppler signals and improve substantial picture imaging of important organs such as the myocardium, liver, kidney, and brain.…”

“…Mixed-differentiated glandular endometriotic lesions comprise differentiated (columnar) and undifferentiated cells (low cuboidal cells). 38,65 Stromal endometriosis is an endometriotic lesion that lacks glandular components, containing only the stromal component. Histologically, stromal endometriosis may be mistaken for low-grade endometrial sarcoma.…”
