This article regards the tonality of the text of the Qurʼān by analyzing the distribution of grammatical means in it that serve to convey emotions. Along with the use of classical approaches of comparative historical linguistics, corpus research and other automatic methods of data processing are widely used in the work. Considering the place of interdisciplinary studies in modern humanities, examples of promising areas for the development of Arabic and Islamic Studies are given, and the importance of improving Natural Language Processing technologies is emphasized.The results allow us to draw a conclusion about the effectiveness of corpus research, on the one hand, and the role of grammar-based approach for conveying the tonality of the text, on the other, which makes it possible to take a fresh look at the issue of the chronology of the Qurʼānic sūras. The distribution of the frequency of use of emphatic particles and other markers in the text is shown in the diagrams.
