Morfo-Physiological Response of Three Shallot Varieties on Water Surface Variation Level

Abstract: The morpho-physiological response study of three shallots varieties on the water surface variation level of the trench aims to find plants that are tolerant of water shortages. The study was conducted in the rice fields of Pulosari village, Brebes District, Brebes Regency, Central Java, Indonesia for three months (January to March 2019). The experimental design used was a separate plot design with three replications. The main plot of trench water surface height (T) is T1 = 10 cm, T2 = 20 cm and T3 = 30 cm. The… Show more

“…The Zn-applied Rubaru variety also showed the best results on the chlorophyll index. Chlorophyll is a factor that influences the process of photosynthesis (Nur et al 2020), so the chlorophyll content will align with the process of photosynthesis. Optimization of the increase in chlorophyll content is influenced by the application of Zn, which has various roles that affect the morphological and physiological components in plants, one of which is increasing the chlorophyll content.…”

“…The average productivity is 8.46 tons/ha, compared to the national productivity which can reach 10 tons/ha [7] so that the productivity of shallots still has the opportunity to be increased. The use of tolerant varieties is one of the most efficient and inexpensive technology options [8].…”

“…Certified shallot seeds are still a rare item and have not been able to meet the needs of farmers [15]. Nur [8] stated that the use of tolerant varieties is one of the most efficient and inexpensive technology options.…”
