Morbidity of laparoscopic surgery for complicated appendicitis: an international study

Abstract: The morbidity rates, particularly for intraabdominal abscesses, were less for laparoscopic appendectomy in complicated appendicitis than those reported in the literature for open appendectomy, whereas operating times and hospital stays were similar.
