Abstract: BACKGROUND The earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada were marked by a significant surge in COVID cases and COVID-related deaths among residents of long-term care facilities (LTCF; also known as centres d’hébergement et de soins de longue durée [CHSLD] in Québec).
