Moral Development

Abstract: This entry highlights the research studies conducted on the concept of moral development and correlates of crime. Most of the studies reviewed hypothesize that criminals are more likely to be classified within the lower stages of moral development when compared with noncriminals. These findings have important implications for prevention and intervention strategies.
