Monotypic no more – a new species of the unusual genus Schwarzia (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Biastini)

Abstract: SchwarziaelizabethaeBossert,sp. n., a previously unknown species of the enigmatic cleptoparasitic genusSchwarziaEardley, 2009 is described. Both sexes are illustrated and compared to the type species of the genus,SchwarziaemmaeEardley, 2009. The male habitus ofS.emmaeis illustrated and potential hosts ofSchwarziaare discussed.
