“…By the way inhibiting the inflammatory response, infarct size begins to be smaller (21,22). Bolayir et al showed that higher monocyte counts' prognosis in acute CVD was worse than lower monocyte counts (6). In our study we also found that higher monocyte levels were related with poor prognosis too.…”

“…There is one study available in the literature that examines the MHR value and mortality in acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease. In this study, high MHR values have been shown to be independent predictors of mortality after acute CVD (6). However, the relationship between infarct subtypes and MHR has not been studied yet.…”

“…It has been shown that high monocyte count and low HDL-C levels may be relevant to inflammation (Acikgoz et al, 2017;Bolayir et al, 2017;Kundi et al, 2015;You et al, 2017;Yucetas, Kadihasanoglu, Karabay, Erkan, & Ozbek, 2017) and oxidative stress (Acikgoz et al, 2017), and it has been reported that the MHR is a new prognostic marker in several CVDs (Karataş et al, 2016;M. S. Cetin et al, 2016;You et al, 2017).…”

“…As MHR is an inexpensive and readily available parameter, it has become more widely used in recent years, and has been related to several clinical conditions (13)(14)(15)(16). The relationship between OSAS and MHR was first investigated by Atan et al in 2007, and it was determined that MHR could be a predictive marker in OSAS diagnosis (17).…”
