Monitoring the movement of inorganic MK701 fertilizer in soil by a home‐made multi‐channel electrical conductivity instrument

Abstract: In this paper, we presented the successfulness in manufacture of a home-made multi-channel electrical conductivity (EC) equipment. Further, the instrument has been used to monitor the variation of soil EC by time in a soil column with the presence of the inorganic fertilizer MK701 (MK701) to find a relationship between EC and the amount of MK701 on the topsoil. A linear dependence at depths of 10 and 50 cm corresponding to the upper and lower root zones, respectively, was found for a duration of 21 days with t… Show more

“…Since a linear correlation with high relative coefficient that has been found to describe the relationship between the EC measured for soils in many different regions and the concentration of various fertilizers in soils (Hoang et al 2019;Korsaeth 2005;Mascianica 2008;Miyamoto et al 2015;Patriquin et al 1993;Salazar et al 2014), this correlation was thus utilized for simulating the variation of EC. Thus, the term C in Eq.…”

“…Some main properties of soil S1 and soil S2 were analyzed and shown in Table 2. The initial EC value (EC 0 ) of these soil samples was measured by using the type of direct contacting sensor and a home-made multi-channel electrical conductivity instrument as reported (Hoang et al 2019).…”
