Monitoring the C.I. reactive red 120 process by thin‐layer chromatography with densitometry

Abstract

The two-step reaction of the C.I. Reactive Red 120 (RR120) production was monitoring by thin-layer chromatography with densitometry. The obtained intermediate C.I. Reactive Red 1 (RR1), hydrolized by-products and final product RR120 were separated and quantificated. The production costs and the pollution of wastewater were significantly decreased by optimization of the RR120 process.
