Monitoring of Horizontal Movements of High-Rise Buildings and Tower Transmitters by Means of Ground-Based Interferometric Radar

Abstract:
Abstract. The paper describes possibilities of the relatively new technics – ground based radar interferometry for precise determining of deformation of structures. Special focus on the horizontal movements of high-rise buildings and on the tower transmitters is presented. The technology of ground based radar interferometry can be used in practice to the contactless determination of deformations of such structures with accuracy up to 0.01 mm in… Show more

“…For each construction, statistics data describing the mean, minimum, and maximum value of the vertical subsidence were computed. For the presentation of the PSI results, a categorization of the buildings into skyscrapers (<100 m) and tall buildings (<100 m) according to the height component [55] was carried out. through PS analysis.…”

“…Detailed and complete information about structure movements during dynamic deformations is available. Non-contact measurements have proven successful in studying large structures, such as tall buildings, towers, chimneys, and skyscrapers [15,19,20]. They can be used to study linear infrastructure objects such as bridges [16,17].…”
