Among the categories of conservation units, the Natural Monument (MoNa) presents a high challenge because it is established areas. MoNa Morro de Santo Antônio is the only one in the state of Mato Grosso and degree of preservation is unknown. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the use and occupation of the soil after the creation of MoNa Morro de Santo Antônio in the state of Mato Grosso and its influence on biophysical parameters from remote sensing techniques. For this, images of the surface reflectance obtained by Landsat 5 and 8 were used. The vegetation classification in the MoNa Morro de Santo Antônio was supervised. The estimated biophysical parameters were the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and the Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI). The results presented in this work show that after the creation of MoNa Morro de Santo Antônio the native Cerrado class increased by 3.38%, the Undergrowth vegetation increased by 5.59% and the Forest dense class increased from 2.21% between 2006 and 2015. The Undergrowth vegetation class had a greater predominance. All indexes were lower in 2006 and higher in 2015. The results of this study are preliminary, but indicate that the creation of MoNa Morro de Santo Antônio in Mato Grosso influenced the preservation of its vegetation.

Exposure to artificial light at night (ALAN) is a significant factor in ecological and epidemiological research. Although levels of exposure are frequently estimated from satellite-based measurements of upward radiance, and the correlation between upward radiance and zenith sky brightness is established, the correlation between upward radiance and the biologically relevant exposure to light experienced from all directions on the ground has not been investigated. Because ground-based exposure to ALAN can depend on local glare sources and atmospheric scattering, ecological and epidemiological studies using upward radiance have relied on an untested relationship. To establish the nature of the relationship between upward radiance and hemispherical scalar illuminance (SI) on the ground and to calibrate future experimental studies of ALAN, we used hemispheric digital photography to measure SI at 515 locations in coastal southern California, and compared those values to co-located satellite-based measures of upward radiance as described by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) satellite's Day-Night Band (DNB) sensor and zenith downwards radiance as estimated by the World Atlas of Artificial Night Sky Brightness (WA). We found significant variations in SI within the geographic scale defined by the resolutions of both the DNB and WA, as well as in both luminance and color correlated temperature (CCT) across individual image hemispheres. We observed up to two or more orders of magnitude in ALAN exposure within any given satellitemeasured unit. Notwithstanding this variation, a linear model of log(SI) (log(SI modeled )), dependent only on the percent of the image hemisphere obscured by structures along the horizon (percent horizon) and log(WA) accounted for 76% of the variation in observed log(SI). DNB does not perform as well in alternative models and consequently future studies seeking to characterize the light environment should be built on WA data when the high temporal resolution of DNB measurements are not needed.

SummaryVegetation is the center connecting the atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere, and it plays an irreplaceable and important role in maintaining the regional ecological balance and affecting the changes of the global ecological environment. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to deeply study the dynamic changes of regional vegetation, predict its future development trend, and comprehensively evaluate its ecological security status. Based on this, this paper combines the multi‐view and difference identification methods to carry out an evaluation study of the vegetation protection status in the plateau area. This paper takes the Huangshui watershed in Qinghai Province as the research area, uses HJ‐1 A star HSI hyperspectral remote sensing images, field measured vegetation canopy spectrum and other auxiliary classification data as data sources, and uses emerging hyperspectral remote sensing technology for analysis. After the above data is preprocessed, spectral data form transformation, hyperspectral data dimensionality reduction and image multi‐view classification feature selection, we use the CART decision tree to classify typical vegetation remote sensing. Finally, we use the landscape ecological security evaluation model to evaluate the vegetation ecological security of the basin. The simulation test verifies the applicability of the scheme in the classification of vegetation hyperspectral remote sensing in complex terrain areas.
