Abstract:BACKGROUND
: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common complex endocrine disorder, whose etiology remains to be elucidated. PCOS has a strong heritable component. Genome-wide association studies have identified several risk loci for PCOS; however, the identified candidate genes could explain less than 5% of PCOS heritability. This missing heritability might be explained by the presence of rare genetic variants with larger biological impact. High throughput sequencing (HTS) could be an interesting… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
