MOMCC: Market-oriented architecture for Mobile Cloud Computing based on Service Oriented Architecture

Abstract: The vision of augmenting computing capabilities of mobile devices, especially smartphones with least cost is likely transforming to reality leveraging cloud computing. Cloud exploitation by mobile devices breeds a new research domain called Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC). However, issues like portability and interoperability should be addressed for mobile augmentation which is a non-trivial task using componentbased approaches. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a promising design philosophy embraced by mobi… Show more

“…Saeid et al [6] proposed a component based framework named Mobile Oriented architecture for Mobile Cloud Computing (MOMCC) based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to portability and interoperability issues. The proposed framework resolves the WAN latency problem by employing a group of mobile device in vicinity that simulates a mobile cloud computing platform.…”

“…The decision to offload or not is based on two parameters; the delay tolerance threshold given by the user and the power consumption to execute the application. S. Abolfazli et al [4] proposed a market oriented architecture to publish, discover and host service on nearby mobile which reduces long WAN latency when distant cloud is used and it creates a business prospect to mobile owners. The framework consists of four modules, the service governor responsible for monitoring and managing all the critical tasks, service developer for development of services to be provided to the requester, mobile host is responsible for executing the service request and would be paid by the service governor and finally the service requester.…”
