Molecular techniques for clinical diagnostic bacteriology

Abstract: Molecular methods have contributed tremendously to the understanding of the pathogenesis and epidemiology of infectious diseases. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is the most widely used target nucleic acid amplification method.
