Abstract:To determine which of P-gp's two binding sites interact with oligomeric Ab, a competition binding assay was performed. Rhodamine 123 (R123) and Hoechst 33342 (H33342) are fluorescent compounds with well-described alternate P-gp binding sites. The transport of each R123 and H33342 is evidenced by a quenching of fluorescence; this transport is impeded by the presence of a compound that binds to the same site. Inverted vesicles are incubated in the presence of both oligomeric Ab and either R123 or H33342 for iden… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
