“…Furthermore, both species have pocket domatia in the axils of secondary veins. As in previous studies, Tridimeris and Sapranthus appear to be closely related (Saunders et al 2011, Chaowasku et al 2012, 2014, Xue et al 2011, 2014, Ortiz-Rodriguez et al 2016) and together form the Sapranthus - Tridimeris clade.…”

“…Fr., Ephedranthus dimerus J. C. Lopes, Chatrou & Mello-Silva and, Malmea dimera Chatrou (Lopes et al 2014). Phylogenetic analyses based on molecular characters (Saunders et al 2011, Chaowasku et al 2012, 2014, Xue et al 2011, 2014, Ortiz-Rodriguez et al 2016) show that Tridimeris hahniana belongs to the Malmeoideae tribe Miliuseae, where along with Desmopsis , Sapranthus and Stenanona it forms the subtribe Sapranthinae (Ortiz-Rodriguez et al 2016). Sapranthus and Tridimeris are closely related and together form the sister group of the remaining members of Sapranthinae.…”

“…These are the widespread Meiogyne cylindrocarpa (Burck) Heusden and the narrow endemic M. glabra Heusden. Recent molecular analyses, comparing Bornean and Australian material, indicate that M. cylindrocarpa may actually represent more than one taxon (Xue et al 2014) but as the species was described from New Guinea the name here is unlikely to change. Oncodostigma leptoneurum Diels was also listed by van Heusden as a dubious species.…”

“…Since then the genus has grown further through the inclusion of the genus Fitzalania F. Muell. (Thomas et al 2012;Xue et al 2014) and recognition of species previously overlooked or the splitting of some wide-ranging taxa (Turner 2009(Turner , 2012Xue et al 2014).…”

“…As per the current understanding, Annonaceae have four subfamilies: Anaxagoreoideae, Ambavioideae, Annonoideae and Malmeoideae . Phylogenetic studies on Annonaceae (Mols et al 2004;Erkens et al 2007;Su et al 2008;Nakkuntod et al 2009;Chatrou et al 2012) have brought significant changes in circumscription and nomenclature of several genera due to the strict adherence to the principle of monophyly (Su et al 2005(Su et al , 2010Rainer, 2007;Mols et al 2008;Saunders, 2009;Chaowasku et al 2011Chaowasku et al , 2012Xue et al 2012Xue et al , 2014. The problematic case of the polyphyletic genus Polyalthia Blume s.l.…”
