Molecular cloning, sequence identification, and gene expression analysis of bovine ADCY2 gene

Abstract: Adenylyl cyclase 2 (ADCY2), a class B member of adenylyl cyclases, is important in accelerating phosphor-acidification as well as glycogen synthesis and breakdown. Given its distinct role in flesh tenderization after butchering, we cloned and sequenced the ADCY2 gene from Yanbian cattle and assessed its expression in bovine tissues. A 2947 bp nucleotide sequence representing the full-length cDNA of bovine ADCY2 gene was obtained by 5' and 3' remote analysis computations for gene expression. Analyses of the put… Show more

“…We have seen a highly significant association between SERPINB5 expression and oral carcinoma 29 . ADCY2 is a membrane-associated enzyme which converts adenosine-5′-triphosphate (ATP) into 3′,5′-adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP/cAMP) and pyrophosphate 30 involving in the regulation of cAMP synthesis 31 . This gene catalyzes the signaling molecule cAMP through G-protein beta as well as gamma subunit signaling 32,33 .…”

“…In the present study, the increased levels of Adcy2, 3 and 8 mRNA in the ischemic injury model were significantly attenuated by SX treatment, and the levels of Adcy1 and 6 mRNA were significantly decreased following SX treatment. Adcy proteins (encoded by the Adcy gene) catalyze the conversion of ATP to cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) ( 35 ). Adcys are activated or inhibited by guanine nucleotide binding proteins (G proteins), which are coupled to membrane receptors that respond to hormonal stimulations, among others ( 35 ).…”

“…Moreover, PRKACB might be a promising target in cancer treatment by increasing drugs responsiveness to tumors [108,109]. Adenylate cyclase 2 (ADCY2), a gene related to the production of cAMP, is greatly implied in acceleration of phosphor-acidification and metabolic processes of glycogen [110,111]. Duerr et al found that ADCY2 expression was obviously elevated in pancreatic neuroendocrine malignant tumors, possibly linked with tumor invasiveness [112].…”
