Based on the presence of a signal peptide at the N-terminus, SODa is predicted to be extracellular, like the mammalian SOD3 genes (Plantivaux et al, 2004). In N. vectensis the gene prediction of NvCuZnSOD3 appears to be incomplete at the 5′ end, so it is not currently known whether a signal peptide is present.…”
